Livable & Sustainable Communities

“To provide leadership for the creation of economically viable and sustainable communities, resulting in an improved quality of life for all residents.”

Purpose of Initiative:

The purpose of the Livable and Sustainable Communities Initiative is to develop objective research, provide information to add value to and create change on determined challenges that will assure the livability, sustainability and economic vitality of San Fernando Valley communities.

By connecting local governments, universities, the Transportation Strike Force, Livable Communities Council and other Valley resources, we’re assuring both a brighter future for our communities and a better quality of life for your employees and all our citizens. Our opinion surveys, statistical updates, Community Indicators Reports and Valley Virtual Library give leaders and business owners the data they need to make informed decisions. We also work towards “greening” our homes and businesses and making sure we implement logical sustainability efforts as we move forward.
